Father Fresh

My biggest fear in the journey of becoming an adult was tied to the immense responsibility of becoming a father...not because I didn't think I could learn the skillsets required to be effective, but the angst I felt almost inherently repeating the mistakes my father and his father before him made (or what I perceive as mistakes).  I've had a very long and tumultuous relationship with my father, one that could would require writing a series of books in order to tell the full story!  Our relationship or lack thereof created a gap in his missing out on so much of what I’ve been able to accomplish both personally and professionally.  Fast forward to now, I have two boys of my own that I adore and would run to a brick wall for.  I won't say that I have perfected the art of fatherhood, but my experiences have made me aware of the pitfalls that come along with this journey.  This is also part of the reason why my path back to some form of middle ground with my father is necessary and something I will continue to navigate.

The truth is, there are no handbooks or courses that can prepare you for this journey.  Even with sound advice from peers or mentors, we are all bound to repeat some of the things we wish never occurred during our childhood.  The lessons I've learned on this road is our children don't expect perfection.  They want honest, open, and loving relationships, which is within each of our grasps.  I make it my business in commending and encouraging other fathers that make it their business to clumsily march along this road of fatherhood.  There's nothing more enriching and equally sobering than the joy we receive knowing that the impact we have in our children's lives have lasting effects. 

This brand is a tribute to fathers (and mothers - parents of all sorts). I’ve always been into fashion on some level.   I also believe that adulthood shouldn't impede your urge to do it the fly way!  What you've seen or will see on this site is my initial first blush at curating a look and feel of what continuing to be fly while being a billboard for positive parenting looks like from my vantage point.   I hope that as I embark on this journey, you'll take the ride with me and experience the maturation of what this brand will eventually morph into. There are so many more exciting things to come and I can't wait to share them with you!!! This brand highlights and celebrates fatherhood and parenting while being fly.
